Here Are the Top Strategies for Local SEO:

1. Google My Business

Make sure your Google My Business account is set up and verified. Here are some important key points you will need to include:

  • Attach Your Business Page to a Domain Email

This is better looking, more professional, and looks more legitimate.

  • Be Consistent

Make sure your business name is accurate, and consistent everywhere you register it.

  • Write a Powerful Business Introduction

Short, concise, and with a call to action is the best way. Aim for around 150-300 words, and remember. this is where you make an impression on people so that they make a decision. Show off your skills. It is good practice to link out to your services or pages from your My Business profile as well.

2. Google Webmaster Tools & Google Analytics

Setup and verify both of these accounts. These tools make excellent sources for various types of research, as well as search engine and performance based optimization.

3. Determine Site Structure

Generally, if you have one product or service, your homepage should be the hub of information. From there you should have a structure of subpages, so that it is easy to navigate to the users.

4. Optimize Title Tag and Meta Description

  • Title

The title should be unique, and contain the keyword or phrase you want to rank for. Try to keep it under 60 characters. Google cuts off text after 69 characters, Bing after 65, and Yahoo after 72. We recommend 60 characters for this reason.

  • Description

The meta description should be between 130 and 160 characters. Many argue this point, but we advise to try for 145 characters with a description of the content and call to action. Ideally, you want to try to grab attention without sounding too spammy.

5. Header Tags Are Complete

You only want one h1 tag per post in most cases. h2 – h6 tags also help lay out the content in an way that will look organized and helpful to the robots.

6. Add Phone Number in the Meta Description

Several experts recommend this, and we agree. Why make searchers hunt for your number.

7. Content Strategy

Write excellent, helpful, engaging content. In the end, you want a great user experience that is easily readable and designed with the user in mind.

TIP: Short and sweet works best for many pages/posts. Google does like longer posts, but web readers scan content and rarely read full posts. Using bullet lists, graphs, pictures and effective communication skills is best practice. Don’t forget to alt tag your pics.

8. Website Optimization

Using a plugin for this is way easier than trying to do it on your own. I use Above the Fold Optimization. It works fine, and I never have to mess with it.

To reiterate, good content is the most important aspect of SEO. You want engaging, factual, and up-to-date content designed for the user. Companies like Bidvine, have been able to increase their search traffic by creating user friendly content on their website. The purpose of content, in the end is to offer help to people using the internet. From there, all you have to do is learn how to use the top strategies for local seo, and you will be up and running. We hope this helps!
